Management and leadership development
The majority of managers arrive in their positions as a result of being great at an operating role i.e they perform better than their peers at doing the day to day activities and are hence promoted. These skills do not necessarily translate into being a great people manager.
Dan, our lead coach in this area, has developed training modules for managers and leaders to ensure that they learn the skills required to effectively manage and lead their teams. These might include:
• Understanding team dynamics and building awareness
• Giving and receiving feedback
• Effective delegation
• Time management
• Performance management
• Stakeholder alignment
• Setting Clear Objectives
• Running Impactful Meetings
• Running effective 1-2-1's
We also help management and HR teams to identify talented individuals with the potential to grow in the organisation and make a significant impact on its future success. We use the ITZ Star tool as a robust measure.
Dan is also highly skilled in assessing 360 feedback at a middle and senior management level. This is usually followed by coaching and 3-way communication sessions to maximise information and translate it into tangible actions and development targets.
The best executive is the one who has sense enough to pick good men to do what he wants done, and self-restraint enough to keep from meddling with them while they do it.
